01 Scope

The product context behind the work.

Problem

Most resume tools add friction before the first useful draft: signup walls, brittle formatting, or export flows that make the final resume feel less reliable than the editor. People need a fast path from structured content to a clean, shareable resume.

My role

  • Built the resume editor with structured sections and a live, template-styled preview
  • Implemented customization controls for palette, page size, and export-ready presentation
  • Added AI-assist surfaces for tailoring a resume toward a target role
  • Shipped resume sharing, export actions, billing gates, and account-based resume management

02 Approach

How the work was shaped.

Resumi is built around getting from a draft to a usable resume without turning the workflow into a maze. The editor keeps resume content in structured sections while the preview shows the document as it will actually read, so formatting decisions stay connected to the final output.

The product experience is intentionally practical. A user can manage saved resumes from a dashboard, open a focused editor, adjust template presentation, and keep the resume preview visible while they work. That reduces the gap between editing content and understanding whether the result is ready to send.

AI assistance sits inside the workflow instead of taking it over. The tailoring surface is scoped around a specific job context, offering help with summaries, bullets, and keywords while leaving the user in control of the resume itself.

Sharing and export complete the loop. Public links, copy/open actions, export formats, and billing gates make the product feel like an end-to-end resume tool rather than a static editor screen.

Reflections

  • The product works best when editing, preview, sharing, and export feel like one continuous workflow.
  • Export fidelity is a feature: a resume that looks good in the editor but breaks when shared or exported is not finished.
