Privacy
Your details, handled with care.
I’m Muhammad Umar Farooq, known professionally as Umar Farooq. I run mumar.dev. Here is what happens when you browse the site or get in touch.

When you get in touch
The contact form sends your name, email address and message through Resend to my Gmail inbox. I use those details to understand your project and reply. Email sent to hello@mumar.dev is forwarded through Porkbun to the same inbox.
Please share only what is needed for the conversation. Project correspondence stays in my inbox for handling the inquiry and any ongoing work or related records. You can email me to request a correction or deletion; I’ll explain if any records need to be retained.
Website usage and performance
I use PostHog, Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand which pages help visitors, whether contact links and the form work, and how quickly pages load. Analytics events do not include the name, email or message you enter in the form. Session recording and automatic click capture are disabled.
Page URLs sent to analytics omit query parameters and fragments. A broad source label, such as LinkedIn or Google, is saved in this tab’s session storage to understand where inquiries begin. It contains no visitor identifier or referring conversation URL.
PostHog uses a temporary identifier held in page memory, without saving a visitor identifier in cookies or browser storage. Vercel uses its own temporary, server-generated visitor identifier. These services still receive connection and device information, including an IP address, when your browser contacts them.
Services that support the site
Vercel hosts the website and handles contact-form requests; Sanity supplies some public content and images. Providers may process technical request data for delivery, security and operations. Their practices are described in the privacy notices for Vercel, PostHog, Resend, Google, Porkbun and Sanity.
Links to product demos, GitHub and LinkedIn take you to separate websites with their own privacy practices.
Your choices
This site skips optional analytics when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. You can also block analytics with browser controls. The portfolio and contact form still work.
